Until I started birding, I never saw them even once. Now that I am, they seem to be all around the place
.
Notice the red color under its tail – that is where Red Vented Bulbul gets its name.

This scene was captured during a sunset around India Gate. As we approached this tree, a flock of birds flew away creating this amazing silhouette.

The place where we went for our ATV ride in Hua Hin also conducted some animal shows. There we found this parrot perched atop a bowl, pecking into the seeds in the bowl at regular intervals.
The parrot kept saying something that seemed to me like a Hindi word, and ever since I’ve been thinking how this bird learnt Hindi while in Thailand
.
This was the most elusive bird of all. The moment I would try to snatch a pic, it would fly away with its beautiful tail fluttering in the air as if teasing us. After at least half an hour of effort, during which we maintained a yogic silence for quite some time, we managed to catch a glimpse of this elusive bird.
What a colorful bird – we were glued to it from the time we spotted it. It would flutter around from branch to branch in a frantic motion, then sit around on some thick branch for a while and knock the wood with its sharp beak. After a couple of knocks, it would raise its head, look around in all directions and if there is no danger nearby, it would continue with its pursuit.
