Somnathpur Temple

A day trip from Bangalore takes you to Somnathpur, that has beautiful temples built with the famous Hoysala architecture.

Magnificent Temples In Talakadu

These temples in Talakadu, Karnataka are a sight to behold. Intricate carvings of gods and goddesses weaving a mythical story that goes around the walls of the temple is something that you don’t find easily these days.

If you are in Bangalore, worth a visit here!

Stunts In The Sky

This is from the recent Aero Show in Bangalore. The Red Bull team performed some amazing stunts and this was one one those breathtaking stunts too.

With two planes flying straight leaving a trail of white smoke, third one kept crossing the two in a zig-zag fashion. Pretty scary if you ask me.

Footsteps To Heaven

This March, we visited Talakadu, a place where there are a bunch of temples covered by sand. In the main temple, as we circled around to admire the beauty, this sculpture of two feet caught my attention.

The bokeh in the photo makes it look so beautiful and heavenly!

God and The Machine

At the Aero Show in Bangalore earlier this year, one of the planes veered really close to the moon. This was one moment that made me think how man is trying to take control of the world that God sent us to live in.

How ironic!

The Cute Puppy

Talakadu is a place around 150 KMs from Bangalore that is famous for 30 temples buried under the sand. Only 5 of those temples have been excavated so far.

We found this little puppy sleeping under a tree next to a temple at Talakadu, blissfully unaware of whatever is going around. When I went close to take a shot ( I was using a 10mm lens ), it quickly woke up and started sniffing around my lens. This is one of the nice photos I was able to capture that day.

Hoysala Temples At Somnathpur

Sometime back, we had the pleasure of visiting Somnathpur, which is about 150KMs from Bangalore and is home to magnificent temples that date back to the Hoysala reign. The intricacy with which the temple is built, the carvings of hindu gods and goddesses all around are a treat to watch.

If this photo motivates you to go and visit these temples, I will consider my job done!

Red Bull Gives You Wings

These planes are a part of the Red Bull Team that performed amazing feats at the Aero Show in Bangalore a few months back. The way these birds were cris-crossing each other in the air and leaving patterns in their trail was spellbinding.

Expressive Eyes

This was shot earlier in the year when we were in our balcony celebrating the festival of lohri. This is a North Indian festival that marks the end of winder and  involves burning a fire out of wood and then offering some popcorn and rewari to the fire.

Sonali just had a bit of popcorn and looked at me to offer some with this irresistible expression in her eyes.

Karva Chauth

This was shot during Karva Chauth last year as Sonali was looking at the moon through the sieve. Karva Chauth is a north indian tradition where the wife fasts for the entire day and prays for the long life of her husband.

These days, husbands have also started fasting on Karva Chauth to show their love and commitment towards their wife.
