In the main market, we saw a buddhist temple with prayer wheels all around its outer wall. Devotees are supposed to go clockwise around the temple and rotate all prayer wheels.
Inside the Wat Chalong, we found magnificent sculptures of Buddha in various poses. The room was mostly dark, with some light seeping through the windows and when it fell on the brown colored statues, their beauty got magnified manifold.
Wat = Buddhist Temple
Wats are most important symbols of Thailand because majority of Thais are Buddhist and they are a sight to behold. Rich carvings, bold colors of red and gold present such a mesmerizing view that its hard to take your eyes off them.
These temples in Talakadu, Karnataka are a sight to behold. Intricate carvings of gods and goddesses weaving a mythical story that goes around the walls of the temple is something that you don’t find easily these days.

This March, we visited Talakadu, a place where there are a bunch of temples covered by sand. In the main temple, as we circled around to admire the beauty, this sculpture of two feet caught my attention.
The bokeh in the photo makes it look so beautiful and heavenly!
This is one of the most interesting temples I have ever seen in my life. Its circular, with the deity in the center surrounded with a circular parapet. Around the parapet, there are elephants of various types and sizes that look like donations from the piligrims. There are 4 entries to this temple and each one is guarded by 2 elephants.
Do look for this temple when you visit Promthep Cap in Phuket.
This is not as big as it looks 
This is a very small effigy of an elephant that was situated atop a pillar in a temple around Promthep Cape. While this is made of clay, there is a certain glow to this effigy that makes it very enchanting.
Last week, we visited the famous Shiva Temple at Perur. Photography inside the temple is prohibited so all I could get was the views from outside. This was my first attempt in shooting with my 10mm lens and it performed fairly well under low light conditions.
